The 5101 Big Sola Bird Balls from M&M Bird Toys are bird loved natural foot toys.
This bird foot toy includes (1), (2), (3), (6) or (9) ready to play with sola balls. Each ball is made from air dried pieces of Sola wood which is crafted into a sphere form. Sola wood comes from the species of plant also known as Shola & Sola Pith Plant. This wood is lightweight, easy to break apart, doesn’t create splinters, is perfect for chewing enjoyment and all natural. Sola balls are a classic bird foot toy and great fun for pets to shred. The sola wood can be grabbed by beaks and feet and will break apart for chewing beaks of all types and sizes. These larger sized balls are excellent for providing lots of shredding and chewing fun.
Sola is a very versatile bird toy material. The sola balls are great fun to play with as they are or combined with other toys. As the balls are light in weight pets of all sizes can manipulate them with ease. Break up the balls by hand for added foraging and shredding material. Even drill holes in the balls and string them up around the cage or from other toys for an added chewable kick! These small sized balls can be enjoyed in endless different ways for birds of all species
Each ball is made from natural sola wood. As these are natural items each ball will vary very slightly in shape, size and weight.

I have a very destructive little lady who is obsessed with sola, and this shop was the best option I’ve found for getting enough to keep her happy without spending a fortune (we live in Alaska and shipping is often a nightmare). My 28 year old citron cockatoo recently developed a plucking problem. These balls are a great distraction. She loves them! This has helped to reduce her plucking behavior.

Review is actually from Henry, our Indian Ringneck Parakeet. Henry is a plucker, but seems to be much more content (and pluck less) when he has things to destroy. He was thrilled with the new package of 'chewy balls' as well call them. This is my not-a-morning-bird happily chewing away at 5am today! We highly recommend these for small to medium parrots who are not destructive chewers. I know there will be piles of debris in his cage when I get home today - which is a wonderful thing!

These are really nice - and big - chewies that my Indian Ringneck Parakeet absolutely loves. We first got some sola balls in a pack of toys (another retailer) and our boy just went wild. Our avian vet had never seen them. Our Henry is a plucker and we do our best to keep him busy and distracted. These arrived in the mail quickly - and when we opened them up, he was happily destroying one right away. I know we'll be ordering more soon.

My parakeets LOVE these Big Sola Balls. In fact..they love them TOO MUCH !! The birds can easily obliterate 1 ball in two days! At least the wood chips are easy to sweep up or vacuum. Highly addictive for the birds!
